what do you mean by "clean it"? what kind of fouling is there to clean up?
If after only 5 miles your spark plug is black and needs cleaning, your engine is probably running far to rich, if you had no problem like that with your old plug maybe the choke is stuck in position or something.
Does the engine idle normally during this 5 miles?
Does it run normally, no lack of power or bad throttle response ?
